New pricing – surcharges and freight

Pricing Update Notice

At The Uniform, we remain committed to providing quality products, reliable service, and competitive pricing.

Like many businesses across Australia, we continue to experience increasing costs from suppliers, decorators, freight providers, and service partners. While these costs continue to rise, we have worked hard to minimise the impact on our customers and have avoided making broad increases to our product pricing wherever possible.

Rather than increasing the cost or our products across the board, we are working on keeping the cost of your uniform items unchanged.  To help offset some of these rising operational costs, we will be introducing a small number of targeted service and freight adjustments from 1 July 2026.

Small Order Surcharges

Our suppliers continue to apply higher charges for low-volume production runs, and the administration, processing, and setup requirements for smaller orders are often similar to those of larger orders.

To help cover these additional costs, the following surcharges will apply:

Orders Under 10 Items
  • Orders containing fewer than 10 items will incur a 20% small order surcharge, per item.
  • The previous $15 embroidery surcharge for small orders will be replaced with this new surcharge.
Individual Naming & Bagging Service

For many years, we have offered complimentary individual naming and bagging of staff uniforms.

We know this service is helpful when distributing uniforms to your team, as it allows each staff member’s items to be clearly labelled and packed together.

As part of our commitment to more mindful and responsible packaging, we are also reviewing how we prepare and pack orders. Individual naming and bagging requires additional packaging materials and handling, so we are encouraging customers to consider whether this service is needed for every order.

From 1 July 2026, orders that require individual staff names and separate packing will incur a charge of $1.00 per item.

From 1 July 2026:

  • Individual naming and bagging will be charged at $1.00 per item.
  • When placing your order through our online portal, simply select the Naming & Bagging option if you would like this service included.
  • If this option is not selected, all items will be packed neatly together within the shipment but will not be individually labelled or packaged by staff member.

Freight Pricing Update

We have historically maintained a flat freight charge of $18 per satchel or box Australia-wide. Unfortunately, freight costs have increased significantly over recent years, making it necessary to update our freight pricing structure.

Australia-Wide Freight Rates

Satchels – $20 Australia wide, flat rate

Box – $30 Australia wide, flat rate

For larger orders, we will continue to source the most competitive freight quote available and provide pricing quotes accordingly.

For regular ongoing orders, the above flat-rate freight structure will apply Australia-wide.
