Kangaroo Island. An iconic tourist attraction of Australia. It has one of the most immaculate coastlines and is also one of our nation’s largest islands coming in third place after Tasmania and Melville Island. Tragically, Kangaroo Island was significantly impacted from the 2020 bushfires, with half of the land damaged and the loss of tens of thousands of wildlife. They are continuing to rebuild this unique destination, bringing this beautiful island back to life again.

One of the most important venues on the island is the local hotel – The Aurora Ozone Hotel. The hotel is positioned nicely on the foreshore at Kingscote. You can choose to stay or simply dine at their even well-known Zone restaurant overlooking the Nepean Bay.

The Brief

With the island revival after a challenging couple of years, Aurora Hotel is ready to pick up its fashion game and dress the team in a brand-new uniform style. One that reflects the relaxing casual vibe of the island while also bringing that touch of formal hospitality for guests to feel they are in the hands of hotel professionals.

The Design

Their uniform wardrobe formula was kept simple and sweet. They chose a classic casual-dress capsule wardrobe that is universally flattering. This capsule wardrobe covers their look over summer, and in the cooler months.

Check Shirt

The Foxton two-tone blue check offers a contemporary fit in a 60% cotton blend with a silk protein finish making it easier to iron. The men’s comes in a long sleeve and women’s in a three-quarter. The ladies shirt also has front darts for a more feminine fit and features practical action back pleats.

Chinos

Men and women wear the Boston chino pant in a modern sand/stone shade to compliment the white and blue check shirt, all together representing the colours of the coastline. Chinos are a regular or slim fit made from 97% cotton with slight stretch.

The Claremont Blazer

The Claremont jacket is one of our fave picks! It’s the perfect piece to instantly elevate your look from casual dress to sleek and stylish. They chose the textured steel blue with brown/tan buttons. The men’s is a longline two-button style jacket. We particularly love the ladies cut with its one-button angled front and crop back hem. The collar is an inverted shawl style that gives the wearer a unique professional elegance over their collared shirt.

Keeping Them Cosy

Being on the coastline it can get quite cold in the A/W season. The crew have the option of two outerwear pieces. Our classic navy softshell jacket to weather all conditions and the cosy navy fleecy zip up. Also, in navy.

Final Outcome

Aurora Ozone Hotel is very content with its cleverly designed uniform capsule wardrobe. Incorporating Kangaroo Island coastal colours, their team is stylishly dressed in shades of blue, white navy, and sand. The final outcome is a refreshed look for their team and a boost to the hotel’s ambiance and brand. It’s also an easy way for the staff to manage their work style all day, every day.
